Regia Mic: privacy
regiamic.com · Last updated 6 October 2026 · Italiano
Regia Mic turns a phone into a microphone for a Windows PC running Regia Mic on the same network. This page says what the phone app does with your voice and your data.
In short: your voice goes straight from your phone to the PC you choose, over your local network, and to no server. There is no account, no advertising and no tracking. We, the developers, never receive your voice or any data about you.
What the app sends to the PC
Only while you are on a channel, and only to that channel's PC:
- Your voice, live, while your microphone is on. The app does not record it. The PC plays it into a microphone that its programs (Zoom, Teams, OBS and others) can use; what they do with it is under their own terms and the PC operator's control.
- The name you choose in the settings (until you choose one, your phone's model name). The PC shows it to its operator and to the other phones on the channel.
- A random number made when the app is installed, so that the PC recognises your phone after pairing.
- How the connection is doing, so the operator can see why a voice breaks up: the Wi‑Fi signal strength, band, channel and speed, how often the phone moves to another access point, packet loss and delay, and whether the screen is off or battery saver is on.
The PC also sees your phone's address on the network, as any device you connect to does.
What the app does not collect
Your location, contacts, files, photos, the name of your Wi‑Fi network, or how you use the app. The app contains no analytics, crash reporting or advertising code.
Encryption
The first time you join a PC, you pair with a code it shows. From then on everything between your phone and that PC is encrypted (X25519 key exchange, XChaCha20‑Poly1305), with keys only your phone and the PC hold. A PC's operator can switch pairing off for a channel; your voice to that PC then travels unencrypted on the local network.
Scanning the pairing code
If you scan the QR code instead of typing the code, the scanning is done by Google Play services, without the app getting access to your camera. Google may collect diagnostic data about the scan, as described in Google's ML Kit data disclosure and privacy policy. Typing the code avoids it.
What stays on your phone
Your settings, your name, the last address you typed and the pairing keys, which are sealed with a key in Android's secure storage. They are not backed up to the cloud. Uninstalling the app deletes them.
On the PC
The PC is run by whoever set up the channel, for example your organisation or event, not by us. It keeps your phone's name, its number and the pairing key so you need not pair again, and a log of connection quality that starts over each time Regia Mic starts. It does not save your voice. The PC's operator can remove your phone from its paired phones.
Children
The app is not directed at children.
Your rights and contact
Since we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to give you or delete; your data on a PC is with its operator. For questions about this policy, write to Liviu Stoica, support@regiamic.com. If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date.
Regia Mic: privacy

Minori
L'app non è rivolta ai minori.
I tuoi diritti e contatti
